Naomi Ullum, CDA experiences inspiration and delight in the creativity of God & finds purpose and fulfillment in life by being a Wife, Mother and Grandmother as well as an artist & educator. Using her professional training and 30 plus years of experience and sharing these blessings with others brings personal joy and contentment.
Naomi Ullum holds a C.D.A. and the M.D.A. floral portion of the Master Decorative Artist, through the Society of Decorative Painters. She has studied under many of the nation’s Master Decorative Artists and has been teaching painting classes on a regular basis in Wichita for the last 20 years. Member of Kansas Association of Oil Painters, KAOP.
Naomi Ullum has been Teaching art for over 25 years and Artist in residence at Special Treasures Studio in Hutchinson, KS. At her working studio, a variety of artistic endeavors are produced on a regular basis such as large murals, designing and creating stained glass art pieces, painted and fired glass projects, stroke-work and floral paintings to name a few. Weekly classes are held on Mondays in Wichita and Hutchinson. For the past 12 years, Mrs. Ullum had the privilege of serving as a Professor of Art at Central Christian College in McPherson Ks. She retired from full time teaching in 2017. Her responsibilities at CCC include teaching Drawing, Painting Classes in multiple media, Art Appreciation, Portraiture, Murals, Art Theory courses and Community art projects such as Art Exhibits & Murals. The program and art students have experienced a steady, high quality growth during this time. The art studio has expanded to include a second art lab for ceramics, stained glass and painting.
During the summer she offers internships and employs graduates and current students in creating extra-large community murals which can be viewed downtown McPherson and Wichita and inside several public buildings.
She also works on occasion with Art Effects, LLC of Wichita, Ks on selected church and historical art restoration projects. Two of these major church restorations have received national awards – St Anthony’s in Wichita and St Josephs in Ots, Kansas near Cheney.
