Shari Bevan

As a native Wichitan, my artistic father fostered my love of painting.  At the age of three, he presented me with my own drawing board and a place to paint in his commercial art studio.  Throughout my childhood and teenage years, my father continued to encourage me to draw and paint.  I was challenged with various art classes, including several with the renowned Betty Dickerson of Wichita.

Since that time, I have been privileged to study with a number of well known local and nationally known artists.

I love to paint a variety of subjects, be it animals, people, flowers, etc.  The subject has to speak to me or tell a story.  Although I’ve used different mediums in my work, oil paints are my choice.
